It all started with an introduction from her cousin. What began with Instagram DMs quickly turned into phone calls, video calls, and eventually their first date on May 28, 2020.

Spoiler alert: it went pretty well.

It went so well that they met again the very next day.

James knew he wanted to get to know Freesia better and see where their story could go. What started as two strangers getting to know each other quickly turned into something neither of them expected.

Then life decided to make things interesting.

For most of their relationship, they were miles apart. They counted down visits, lived on video calls, and made every moment together count. Through every flight, every countdown, and every “see you soon,” they kept choosing each other.

After five years of long-distance love, countless video calls, and more airport reunions than they could count, James asked one simple question on Christmas Eve 2025:

“Will you marry me?”

The answer was always yes.

And now, after six years together, they are counting down to November 1, 2026 — no more airport goodbyes, just the beginning of forever.
